The 207 Super 2000 gave Peugeot Sport a competitive customer-rally platform in the second half of the 2000s. Importers and private teams used it in the Intercontinental Rally Challenge and national championships, with continuing technical development after its 2007 introduction. This profile corrects the inventory's 2009 origin shorthand and separates period sales milestones from completed production. It is the competition programme, not a road-going 207 RC or an ordinary 207 special edition.

A programme built for customer teams

Peugeot's 2010 customer-sport announcement describes the 207 Super 2000 as a car used by private teams and national importers. That is a different organisational model from assigning every entry directly to one factory works team. The manufacturer's role includes building, supporting and developing the platform, while crews and entrants have their own histories. A clear profile therefore keeps the car programme, the individual team and the specific chassis as related but distinct subjects.

Peugeot: 2010 customer programme, 2007 origin and eighty-sales milestone

The introduction predates the inventory year

The primary 2010 account states that the car had been introduced in 2007. The inventory's 2009 date is therefore retained as an original reference but not presented as the programme's beginning. The correction matters when discussing early cars and subsequent evolution packages. A 2009 entry may be entirely authentic without representing the first specification, just as a later development kit does not automatically create a newly manufactured chassis.

IRC and national championship context

Peugeot's retrospective describes successive Intercontinental Rally Challenge driver and manufacturer titles and national-level success before the 2010 season. That supports the programme's sporting importance without assigning every result to one car. A title reference should identify the year and championship, while an individual event requires its own entry and classification record. The same model name on an entry list is not sufficient to establish that a photographed car won the overall programme's best-known title.

Peugeot: 2010 customer programme, 2007 origin and eighty-sales milestone

Eighty sales at a dated milestone

The 2010 manufacturer announcement states that eighty examples had been sold since introduction. This is a useful period sales milestone, but it is not a closed all-years construction total. Further sales, retained development cars, replacements and later rebuilding would need to be reconciled separately. The eighty figure is therefore stored with its date and measure rather than placed into a completed-production field or described as an independently audited surviving-car census.

A useful identification record

A customer competition car should be traced through its Peugeot Sport build identity, entrant history, technical papers, dated upgrades and subsequent ownership. Its original configuration and its present equipment may differ legitimately after years of competition. The programme's factory origin remains meaningful, but a road 207 transformed to resemble it needs a different description. This profile does not infer a worldwide completed total from a numbered plate, a sales milestone or the number of rally results collected under the model name.

Rarity and production scope

Verified 207 Super 2000 customer-competition programme. The manufacturer-documented 2007 origin replaces the inventory's 2009 shorthand. Eighty sales in the 2010 announcement remain a dated milestone, not a completed or surviving worldwide total.

This is an Archive record. Concepts, restored heritage vehicles, works cars and competition programmes are not added to customer road-production totals. A programme profile does not establish how many physical chassis were made, and repeated exhibition appearances do not create additional vehicles.
