Nissan's UK LEAF Black Edition went on sale in March 2017 as a short-window special model based on Acenta. Black exterior details, an Around View Monitor and the contemporary 30 kWh EV package defined the offer. The inventory's 2016 date reflects the earlier announcement period, not the UK retail launch. This profile also keeps the promotional Wi-Fi allocation separate from the number of cars built.

A March-to-August offer

The UK release described a restricted production period running from March through August 2017. That gives the edition a documented time boundary, but not a numerical cap. It should not be treated as a separate new generation of LEAF. Nor should a later registration date automatically extend the factory offer or prove that a car with similar black accessories belongs to the original special model.

Acenta with a specific presentation

Nissan identified black sixteen-inch wheels, mirror caps and rear roof spoiler, together with LED headlamps and blue-stitched floor mats. These details created the package's appearance around the Acenta base. They are also components that can be replaced or retrofitted. Original sales documentation is therefore more reliable than exterior colour alone when connecting a surviving vehicle to the factory edition.

Technology within the edition

The UK specification included NissanConnect EV and Intelligent Around View Monitor. Those features explain part of the package's appeal without implying that it had a unique motor tune. In an individual-car description, retain the original equipment and distinguish later infotainment changes or service limitations. A historic technology feature can remain part of the car's identity even where its present operation needs separate checking.

Battery capacity and period range

The release discussed the 30 kWh battery and a 155-mile NEDC range reference. That is a period manufacturer rating under a particular test, not a current real-world range promise. Battery ageing, operating conditions and later pack replacement affect an individual car. Those belong in a condition report, while the historical profile keeps the original test label instead of converting the figure into a modern equivalent.

The Wi-Fi offer is not a production count

The first two hundred UK customers were offered a Wi-Fi hotspot. That promotional quantity does not cap UK car production, and another region's incentive count cannot establish a global edition total. A useful identification file records market, original package and delivery details first. This profile preserves the short sales window while leaving completed production blank rather than treating a marketing incentive as a chassis census. For a battery replacement, retain the repair date and pack identification separately from the original edition record. That keeps a later capacity change from being mistaken for a different factory Black Edition.
