The 2025 Citroën ELO Concept explores how a compact electric vehicle might become a place to travel, rest and work. Its orange body and expansive glazing make the passenger enclosure the main event, with a central driving position giving the interior a distinctive organising point.

A compact body with several proposed roles

Citroën announced ELO on 9 December 2025. The 4.10-metre electric concept accommodates up to six occupants through a modular seating arrangement. Its central driver’s seat can rotate, and removable rear seats support uses outside the vehicle. Decathlon and Goodyear collaborated on the project. These are features of the concept brief, rather than an announced retail configuration.

The proposal changes the question usually asked of a small car. Instead of considering only how much luggage can fit behind a fixed row of seats, it asks how the whole enclosure might be rearranged across a day. The interesting archive subject is that relationship between interior volume and different activities. A concept can make the relationship visible even before any commercial programme is established.

Reading the credited launch-video still

The supplied image is a still from a credited, openly licensed La Revue Automobile video, identified through its Wikimedia Commons record. It shows the orange physical vehicle indoors, with a dark glazed upper section and prominent lower wheel arches. The image is labelled as a video still throughout the photo record rather than being assigned an invented still photographer.

The high glass area gives the upper body visual lightness, while the strong lower panels keep the vehicle planted in the composition. The front face is broad and simple enough that the logo and lamps become clear graphic elements. Those observations explain the appearance in this particular frame. They do not certify a chassis number, independently measure cabin visibility or establish the operation of every proposed interior feature.

The driver’s seat as an interior pivot

The announcement describes a central front driving position and a rotating seat. It also presents arrangements for resting and working, including an interior sleeping proposal developed with inflatable mattresses. The original press material supplies those details; the exterior still provides context rather than a demonstration of the conversion.

A central seat is interesting because it changes both the physical route through the cabin and the visual relationship between the driver and passengers. Rotation gives that seat another role when the vehicle is stationary. Read as a design proposal, the arrangement treats the driver’s place as part of the shared interior rather than as a permanently isolated corner. It should not be taken as evidence that users can adopt those configurations while driving.

ELO in the concept archive

ELO’s exact fabrication count is unknown. Its eligibility rests on the documented physical concept and the manufacturer’s original announcement. The later public display history, if added, should retain its own dates rather than changing the project’s 2025 reference year.

Tubik and oli provide useful related comparisons. Tubik also approached the journey through passenger space, while oli explored simplicity and practical surfaces. These are comparisons between separate projects, not a claim that their components or custodial histories are shared. ELO’s particular contribution is the compact modular enclosure: it gives mobility, rest and work a common architectural setting. Preserving the launch material, interior configuration records and properly credited images keeps that proposition reviewable long after the first publicity cycle.
