The US 2024 GT-R Skyline Edition marked the R35's North American send-off with Bayside Blue paint and a Sora Blue interior. It was announced alongside the mechanically distinct T-spec Takumi Edition. Nissan stated fewer than two hundred cars across the pair, not two hundred for each. This profile preserves that shared allocation boundary while keeping the Skyline Edition's Premium-based identity separate from the older GT-R 50th Anniversary programme.

A North American closing chapter

Nissan's June 2024 announcement described two special editions as the R35 approached the end of production for North America. That geographical boundary matters: it was not a claim that worldwide R35 production ended on the same date. The Skyline Edition's name honours Nissan's wider heritage without changing the car into a sedan-based Skyline or an earlier Skyline GT-R chassis.

Nissan USA: farewell editions and shared allocation

Bayside Blue with a different interior

The factory pairing of Bayside Blue and Sora Blue cabin trim defined the Skyline Edition's presentation. Blue paint alone is not sufficient identification because other R35 programmes used related colours. In particular, the 2020 anniversary edition had its own graphics and historical context. An individual car should be matched to its original package and delivery records rather than assigned to an edition by colour alone.

A Premium-based road specification

The Skyline Edition followed the Premium road-car foundation rather than the GT-R NISMO or the Takumi-specific engine-preparation story. The US 2024 reference uses the familiar 565 hp twin-turbo V6, dual-clutch gearbox and four-wheel-drive layout. Shared architecture does not make the two farewell editions mechanically identical, and no special engine-balancing claim is assigned to the Skyline car merely because it appeared in the same announcement.

Nissan USA: farewell editions and shared allocation

The shared fewer-than-two-hundred figure

The original announcement gives fewer than two hundred available vehicles for the two farewell editions together. It does not publish an exact split between them. This profile retains the inequality and the shared scope instead of converting it into two independent two-hundred-car totals. A completed or surviving census would need additional vehicle-level evidence and should not be inferred from the allocation statement.

An identification file for the send-off edition

Look for the original US build, colour combination, edition paperwork and delivery history. Record later exports, retrimming and body repairs separately. Neither a commemorative advertisement nor a blue respray proves that a car belongs to the limited programme. The verified factory identity is useful precisely when its market, specification and count boundary remain attached rather than becoming a generic rare blue GT-R label.
