2024 Nissan Frontier TARMAC Concept
Explore the Frontier TARMAC Concept: history, verified identity, specification references, rarity evidence and real credited photos.

The Frontier TARMAC was a physical Nissan and Forsberg Racing project unveiled for SEMA in November 2024. Built from a rear-drive Frontier PRO-X, it pursued a lowered muscle-truck direction with a supercharged VQ38 V6 and extensive chassis work. This profile follows that commissioned concept, keeping its prototype components separate from ordinary production Frontier equipment and from Nissan's off-road pickup studies.
A different Frontier direction
Nissan Motorsports, Nissan Design America and Chris Forsberg's team collaborated to explore a low-slung performance truck. The manufacturer account describes a real build rather than a speculative rendering. The PRO-X base is important because it establishes a different starting point from a four-wheel-drive off-road model. A similar paint scheme or lowered stance on another Frontier does not establish a connection to this commissioned vehicle.

A supercharged V6, not an assumed V8 swap
The build sheet identifies a supercharged VQ38 producing more than 400 hp, with prototype intake and exhaust work. This is not the TITAN-derived V8 specification used in some other Nissan truck projects. Keeping the engine family precise avoids merging separate concepts simply because both used Forsberg or NISMO branding. The published claim remains a build-sheet reference rather than an independent dynamometer report.
Lower suspension and larger road tyres
Nissan described a prototype lowering package with adjustable coilovers and remote reservoirs. The concept used wide twenty-inch wheels and road-oriented tyres rather than an off-road lift and mud tyres. Those choices explain the TARMAC identity. The parts' appearance in a concept does not establish that the entire configuration was offered as a retail factory trim or approved as a complete road package in every market.

Braking and control details
The build account lists Z NISMO-derived brake components, custom rotors and a dedicated handbrake arrangement. These support the intended track-performance brief, but they belong to this particular concept specification. They should not be copied into a general Frontier production table. An individual recreation would need its own engineering, approval and construction records rather than inheriting the original project's identity.

Documenting the SEMA build
Use Nissan's dated reveal, detailed build sheet and photographs to trace the concept. Any later changes should retain their own dates because commissioned vehicles can evolve after their first show. The manufacturer describes a one-of-a-kind project, but this profile does not extrapolate that wording into a census of every later continuation or replica. No customer-production allocation is created from the concept's public reception.

Rarity and production scope
Verified physical Frontier TARMAC project. Prototype equipment is not standard Frontier specification, and the VQ38 build is distinct from unrelated V8 truck projects. No customer-production or all-years continuation census is assigned.
This is an Archive record. Concepts, restored heritage vehicles, works cars and competition programmes are not added to customer road-production totals. A programme profile does not establish how many physical chassis were made, and repeated exhibition appearances do not create additional vehicles.
