Horex VR6 Black Edition
The Horex VR6 Black Edition was one of the small launch series associated with the brand’s redevelopment under 3C-Carbon. Horex identifies a limit of 33, separately from the 33-bike Silver Edition. The manufacturer’s history places the paired specials before the subsequent Classic and Café Racer production models introduced in 2016.

Design and engineering
The Black Edition uses the compact 1,218cc six-cylinder VR6 and a dedicated single-seat presentation. The factory description lists carbon structural components, Öhlins suspension, Brembo braking equipment and Kineo-Horex wheels. A more sporting handlebar configuration was available. Those details belong to this edition and should not be assumed identical to the later RAW or every standard VR6.
Production and edition scope
Thirty-three is the manufacturer-stated Black Edition ceiling. It is not shared with Silver Edition, and it does not refer to the separate RAW 99 programme. The closed sales phase is not by itself a completed-build audit. A 2019 photograph of the Black Edition illustrates the model without establishing that the factory announced another production allocation that year.
Identifying an authentic example
Compare the original order, chassis identity and edition description with the single-seat configuration and recorded equipment. Retain evidence for the finish, carbon structures and any selected handlebar arrangement. A standard VR6 modified to resemble the Black Edition requires documentary support before it can be attributed to the numbered launch programme.
Collector significance
The edition is significant for presenting Horex’s revived six-cylinder concept through a particularly concentrated materials and chassis package. Its collection history is clearest alongside, but separate from, the Silver Edition. Original documents and a transparent component history keep two visually related thirty-three-bike series from being collapsed into one inaccurate production story.
