Design and engineering
Redline Red paint with Birch White tank panels recalls a 1956 treatment. A solo saddle, decorated saddlebags, detachable windscreen and bright trim develop the period theme around a contemporary Milwaukee-Eight 114 Softail. The model combines references from several historical details; it should not be described as an exact mechanical replica of a single 1949 motorcycle.
Production and edition scope
The 1,750 is the manufacturer’s announced programme ceiling, not an independently audited completed-delivery total. The earlier Electra Glide Revival and Highway King are separate Icons releases. The same 2024 announcement also introduced Tobacco Fade models, but those belong to the Enthusiast Collection and have different per-model limits and identification practices.
Identifying an authentic example
Check the serialized riser-cap identification, chassis record and original sales description. Compare the two-tone tank, saddle, windscreen and bags with the delivery specification, recording exchanged trim or repaired paint. Retain evidence for removable presentation components. A historic Hydra-Glide’s provenance cannot be transferred to this modern tribute, nor can a period-style custom Softail be authenticated by appearance alone.
Collector significance
The Revival explains an important suspension-era reference through a modern factory motorcycle with a closely defined presentation. Its collection interest lies in the relationship between historical design choices and contemporary engineering. A complete numbered file and original equipment record make those choices easier to understand than the broad use of a nostalgic model name.
