Brough Superior AMB 001 by Aston Martin
The AMB 001 began the Aston Martin and Brough Superior motorcycle partnership with a track-only design revealed at EICMA in November 2019. Aston Martin specified a run of 100. It combines the car maker’s design work with a motorcycle engineered and assembled by Brough Superior in Toulouse, giving the collaboration one vehicle identity across its two associated brands.

Design and engineering
Its 997cc V-twin uses turbocharging, while a double-wishbone front assembly and structural carbon-fibre elements distinguish the chassis. The original presentation combined Stirling Green and Lime Essence with exposed carbon and a tan leather saddle. A fin running through the upper bodywork connects the tank, seat and tail visually. These features belong to a specialised circuit motorcycle, not a road-homologated Aston Martin accessory.
Production and edition scope
The manufacturer’s 100-bike limit applies to the original AMB 001. The later AMB 001 Pro has a different specification and an 88-bike limit; the road-going AMB 002 is another programme again. The 2019 reveal date should be kept separate from individual build and delivery dates. The launch release’s planned deliveries do not establish that every motorcycle was completed on schedule.
Identifying an authentic example
Authenticate an example through the Brough Superior build record, original sale documents and individual identification. Compare its engine, front assembly, carbon structure and supplied equipment with the original specification. Similar colours or Aston Martin badges alone are insufficient. Record repairs and replacement bodywork, especially where circuit use may have affected structural components.
Collector significance
The AMB 001’s significance lies in a complete design collaboration expressed through a tightly limited track machine. A collection file should preserve both partners’ roles without creating duplicate records under Aston Martin and Brough Superior. Mechanical service history, original equipment and a documented account of actual use provide the detail that a launch announcement cannot supply.
