The 2015 BRZ Series.Blue combined STI aerodynamic parts and a blue-accented cabin in a 1,000-car US programme. Its name did not mean every car was blue: Subaru split the allocation between 500 WR Blue Pearl and 500 Crystal White Pearl examples.

The 2015 model was announced in May 2014

Subaru of America announced Series.Blue on May 29, 2014 and explicitly identified it as a 2015 BRZ edition, with arrival planned for July. The profile therefore uses the factory model year while retaining the workbook’s 2014 announcement reference in its audit. Series.Blue is separate from the subsequent Series.HyperBlue programme. Closely related names and blue cabin details should not turn independently announced editions into aliases or merge their respective allocations.

Subaru of America: 2015 BRZ Series.Blue introduction

The colour split is part of the programme boundary

The announcement gives 500 WR Blue Pearl and 500 Crystal White Pearl cars within the 1,000-car US allocation. Both exterior colours belong to Series.Blue. The edition name should not cause a genuine white car to be excluded, or an ordinary blue BRZ to be accepted without further evidence. Factory colour and edition documentation should be considered together with the complete equipment specification when identifying an individual example.

Aerodynamic development goes beyond visible trim

Subaru describes black STI front, side and rear-side underspoilers, together with additional underbody panels. The factory attributes a drag-coefficient change from 0.28 to 0.27 to the underbody treatment. That is an original manufacturer reference, not an independent aerodynamic test here. The underlying BRZ retains its naturally aspirated 2.0-litre boxer and rear-wheel-drive sports-car identity; the announcement gives a 200 hp reference rather than a separate turbocharged engine programme.

The cabin continues the blue theme

The Limited-based specification includes blue leather seat bolsters and head restraints, blue stitching and coordinated steering-wheel, console and door details. Black 17-inch STI wheels and red-finish brake calipers complete the visible exterior treatment. Individual components can be replaced or transferred, making a full photographic and documentary record more useful than one accessory. Repairs or changed wheels should be recorded accurately without assuming they automatically establish or erase the original edition identity.

The supplied image comes from the original launch

The included factory image was distributed with Subaru’s Series.Blue announcement and is retained with its editorial-use attribution. It illustrates the correct edition rather than a generic blue BRZ or the later HyperBlue car. The production cap and colour split come from the dated release, not from the photograph. Original sales records, chassis-linked documentation and subsequent service history are still needed to authenticate the delivery and condition of an individual vehicle.
